Artist Statement : "This print originally designed for an elders conference held in Alert Bay. It is a tribute to the elders from whom all knowledge and teaching comes. The face at the base of the tree represents the elders and the tree of life symbolizes knowledge. THere was another printing of this design attempted which was rejected by the artist. It was also used on a t-shirt." Statement provided by Vincent Rickard, Pacific Editions.
