Artist Statement : Kolus is the sister of the supernatural Thunderbird. Gwayam is a whale who is even larger than the Killerwhale. The original design for this print was created for a memorial, and it was used, by a relative, as a dance screen. The design relates the combination of two tribes coming together for this occasion.
