Artist Statement : This design depicts the front and side views of a totem pole which was commissioned by a Japanese company. The figures represent a mythological Sea Bear and Killerwhale. While Killerwhale is a common crest figure which is found in many stories and legends, the Sea Bear is a very rare member of the Kwagiulth Undersea Kingdom. (Statement provided by Pacific Editions)
