Visual Description : Georgian mahogany armchair with upholstered seat and separate seat cushion. The ends of the arms are carved with a spiral/circular design and the arms themselves are supported with vertical lengths of wood attached to the outer sides of the seat area. The back of the chair has decorative patterns and designs carved into the top area as well as the middle section. The upholstered seat area has metal studs along all bottom outer edges, presumably brass. The separate cushion has a rope-like, red- and gold-striped trim along the outer edge. Both cushion and seat are made of the same fabric, which is satin-like in appearance with burgundy and brown stripes. The overall colour of the chair is brown with a gloss finish.
